Warm and Charming
And now for something completely different! This French country kitchen features a farmhouse table, painted grey and glazed. Ladderback chairs have custom cushions that coordinate with other fabrics in the room.
The real treasure in this space is the vintage hutch. Repainted and glazed to match the table, it holds a variety of items, both useful and decorative. Blue and white ceramic ginger jars (so-named for their original purpose of storing precious spices in ancient China) introduce a fresh, springy feeling. Dramatic white bud vases, books and greenery complete the look.
The blue-black inkblot-style artwork amplifies the blue and white theme with an uplifting feeling, without distracting the eye.
On the table, a ceramic pot is filled with red flowers, which echo the chair cushion colors and make for an airy, festive table.
Above the table, the gracious open ball chandelier creates movement. The bare bulbs almost seem to hang unsupported in space. The lighting allows the bright colors in the room to take center stage.
Sit down together. Tonight.
I’m not going to tell you all the reasons you should eat together as a family. I’m sure you know that.
But I do want to tell you to cherish the time you spend with your family – because we can never say that enough.
