Transition to Spring with Hailey
For my post, I wanted to keep it real and do something a little bit different than Holly and Julie.Anyone who talks to me about fashion knows I LOVE finding vintage treasures from thrift stores. Here’s how I combine these secondhand scores with new pieces from Threads!
So, real talk, I have been waiting to wear these secondhand linen pants for MONTHS. But every time I put them on with winter shoes or boots, they just don’t look right. However, with this adorable off-the-shoulder top from Jack and a pair of black slingbacks from Sorel, they could not be a more perfect addition to my spring wardrobe. The neck scarf gives off a bit of vintage vibe (it’s actually new from Threads) and a pair of oversized Quay sunnies completes the look.
I bought this denim dress last fall at one of my favorite thrift shops, St. Vincent de Paul, for a couple of bucks. I’ve only worn it twice because the light wash denim with flower buttons feels so right for spring and so wrong for fall and winter. Ha! Pairing it with a vibrant Free People cropped tank and topping the look off with a vintage men’s striped dress shirt makes for a springy layered look. And let’s just take a moment of appreciation for those wedges from BedStu. Excuse me?! They are the perfect greige color and can be easily dressed up or down. A serious must-have.
When this mustard colored top came in a couple of weeks ago, it was love at first sight. It’s such a bizarre pattern and color combo and totally and completely my style. What I wasn’t ready for was for this crocheted vest to find me at Goodwill last weekend and pair PERFECTLY with the top. Love works in mysterious ways, huh? I kept it simple on the bottom with a basic pair of cuffed jeans and elastic sandals from Sorel, which I can tell you will be my go-to shoes all summer long. If only it would stop snowing…
