July is, no doubt, one of the hottest months of the year. However, that doesn’t keep the school supplies from showing up at the stores or sweaters from hitting the shelves. Fall is coming. Even when it’s 95* outside, we can’t help but let our minds wander–even briefly–to socks and scarves and sweaters.
That’s where transition pieces come into play. These are the items you can buy now, wear now, and be comfortable in now. But, they are also great for fall fashion. Here we show you some of our favorite looks styled with transition pieces.
This spaghetti strap dress is light and airy. Paired with simple accessories and sandals, it’ll keep you cool during the dog days of summer.
Layers, layers, layers! If there’s one thing we love about fall fashion, its being able to wear many of our favorite pieces at the same time. Add a denim tunic, boots, and a military jacket to the striped dress and you’ve got a look that’ll take you effortlessly into autumn.
We’ve been a fan of this tunic since it arrived in our shop; it’s light, swingy, and easy. We paired it with a lacy bralette and some sparkly accessories to keep the look simple but put-together.
Everyone needs one an embellished henley in their wardrobe. Here, we layered it under the tunic and swapped the sandals for a pair of tall, black boots for a look that’ll keep you warm when the weather gets cool.
