Tips & Tricks | How to Layer During Summer
We sat down with Hailey, our Threads layering guru, to find out what her favorite summer layering tricks are. She first suggests to always use lightweight pieces, “that’s the essential for any layered summer wardrobe.” Check out her 5 tips and tricks for getting that favorite layered style with no sweat.
Layer with light tunics, pullovers and jackets. You can easily wear a pullover with basic shorts, but we suggest stepping it up a notch by wearing a pullover with your favorite romper or dress.
Experiment with bralets. With so many different colors and styles to choose from you can easily add this fun layering trend to your wardrobe. Use a bralet under your strappy tank top for added design and extra support.
Layering with necklines. If you’re worried about a low cut tank, you can easily add a mock neck tank or tee shirt underneath. Not only does this give you extra coverage, it also shows off your edgy style.
Try different scarf wraps. Despite the rumors, scarves are not a dying trend and they are not just for fall. The braid wrap is perfect for summer because it is away from your neck while it gives sass to your outfit. Try tying your scarf into a vest this creates a feminine and flowing illusion around your torso. We are also huge fans of the short silk square scarf. You can tie these up in your hair, close around your neck, or in a loose knot dangling on your chest.
Bodysuits. Before you say no, hold on and hear us out. Our Free People Movement brand has this amazing bodysuit that has an exposed back similar to a bralet. This bodysuit is not just for the yogi’s, we also recommend wearing it under a short dress or a low cut back dress or shirt.
