Start in the bedroom
A modern-vintage wrought iron bed with exquisite footboard detail becomes a classic with simple, white cotton pinstriped bedding. This crisp, fresh whiteness dominates the room and makes it feel cozy yet summery. Add a dark grey coverlet and bed skirt to create a poufy look. After all, pouf is important. A poufy bed is inviting and comfortable. To achieve this in summer, use a versatile white duvet with light down and switch to heavier down during winter. Add pillows and throws for more poufs; you may find yourself wanting fewer in summer. A wood cylinder table with a solid top and a small-circle base features a pickled finish and adds interest to the room. A small reading lamp and framed photo completes the look.
Neutrals Compliment White
Across from the bed, the modern credenza creates a contrast with the vintage bed. This grey-washed wood piece sports rustic finishes and metal edging. Open the drawers by pushing to activate the quick release. Atop the credenza we have a simple concrete-based lamp with a linen shade and a burnished gold base. The very contemporary concrete planter can hold plants or low-maintenance river rocks, as shown here. Cog mirrors lock together and come in a variety of sizes. Use them to create layers and additional interest.
